Drivers

Firstly we just need to check that you are able to drive our campervans. The driver requirements are that you are at least 25 years old and no more than 79 years old, have held a full driving license for at least two years that have no more than two minor endorsements and that you have not had more than one recent claim that was your fault. If you fall outside these requirements we may still be able to accommodate you, please get in touch if you do. This is a requirement of the insurance policy. If this is all ok, then the next stage is to check availability. PLEASE NOTE: AS OF 2024, IF YOU ARE UNDER 25, WE ARE UNABLE TO HIRE YOU ANY VEHICLE.

Availability

Check availability on the BOOKING SYSTEM. The available dates are in green. Changeover days are on Mondays or Fridays. If the dates you require are available, you can pay the deposit via the booking system. We expect full payment 42 days before the hire.

Our campervans are all individually designed and professionally-converted, to suit a wide variety of customers, with comfortably-upholstered seats and the iconic Rib bed set up. They are fully equipped with just about every item you need for a great holiday, so you don’t have to worry about packing the kitchen sink! If you need a few little extras they are available to book, you will be presented with the options through your booking journey, where you can find details of extras like the Sheltapod awning, bike rack, European cover and extra drivers.

Please note:

To confirm your booking a deposit of £150.00 is required. You will receive a booking confirmation email from us and then for insurance purposes, we need you to email us copies of the following for each driver:

• Card licence - If you have an old-style paper licence then we require a copy of your passport photo ID

• 2 proofs of address - these can be; bank statement, credit card statement, mobile phone bill, household energy bill, landline/internet bill, water bill, TV licence, mortgage statement, loan statement or car finance statement. All documents need to be dated within 3 months of your hire date and must match the address on your driving licence. We understand paperless billing is becoming more common, so we can also accept a screenshot of your bills.

• 7 days before your hire date we are required to carry out an endorsement check on the licence of any named driver(s). We can do this with your licence number, date of birth and national insurance (NI) number. Alternatively, if you are not comfortable advising us of your NI number, you can go to the DVLA web site and generate a code which we then use with your driving licence number. The DVLA website has details of your options for this at https://www.gov.uk/view-driving-licence.

 

Security Deposit

 

Yes a minimum security deposit of £750 is payable before the collection of the vehicle.

This can be paid by credit, debit card or bank transfer. If you choose to pay this on a card, we can operate a PRE-AUTH transaction, this is essentially a temporary hold placed by a merchant and reserves the funds for a future payment if needed.

Provided you bring the van back on time, clean, in the same condition as it left and with a full tank of diesel, this will be refunded.

Collection/Return

We are based in Newton Aycliffe and look forward to meeting you and introducing you to your Campervan. Pick up times are between 14:30 and 17:30 and drop off times are between 8:30 and 10:30 Mondays or Fridays, except by prior arrangement. You can leave your car at our premises free of charge whilst you're away, however, vehicles are left at your own risk.

NOTE: ANY LATE RETURNS MAY BE CHARGEABLE. PLEASE ALLOW 1 HOUR FOR HAND OVER WITH INSTRUCTION ON COLLECTION, AND AT LEAST HALF AN HOUR ON RETURN OF THE VAN TO US TO COMPLETE ALL THE FINAL PAPERWORK.

The flat rates we quote to hire one of our camper vans include the following:

• Hire of the campervan and accessories

• Fully comprehensive insurance for drivers with no or minor endorsements and subject to our Terms & Conditions. 

• Full breakdown cover

• Unlimited mileage

• Full tank of fuel - remember to return it with a full tank

• The campervan includes for example; Crockery, Cutlery, Cups, Glasses, Plates, Bowls, Kettle, Pans, Cooking utensils - an inventory checklist will be provided

• A full demonstration of how everything works when you collect the campervan - please allow a little extra time for this

• A parking space on our premises whilst you're away or free collection from Darlington train station
